Who IS Randy mCneilly
Randy McNeilly grew up in rural Western North Carolina steeped in the rich tradition of Appalachian storytelling. Some of his earliest memories are the vivid visuals created by these traditional yarns. A chance encounter with the works of Andrew Wyeth in his high school library led McNeilly to the world of art and then photography. The combination of these influences have made him a “visual storyteller.”
Randy and his business/life partner Janet Berry own a Portrait/Commercial studio, art gallery and custom frame shop in Shelby, North Carolina. The team pride themselves on being a truly bespoke operation. Every task from image editing, printing, canvas stretching, framing to graphic design is performed in-house. 2020 begins their 5th decade in business.
McNeilly’s continuing evolution finds him returning to the commercial roots of his early career. Having just completed a 2nd studio, he is combining the two great passions of his life; Sports Cars and Photography. Located on their farm, the new studio is complete with a car turn-table and overhead light bank. Most importantly as Randy nears semi-retirement, this assures he will always have an escape to his favorite refuge, the photography studio.
